Not cheating, more lack of communication on officiating team.

That’s another one that understandably annoyed people, but remember that the ref who was trying to stop the play at the snap was off screen down the line, and the head official didn’t hear/see him. The clock was wrong and needed to be reset, by the time the head ref got it, Mahomes had alr thrown.

makes your pattern searching brain think that it’s rigged. This doesn’t make sense when looking at last season, when huge wins were “taken” from the Chiefs as the result of Penalties and tick tacky calls. In reality, the Mahomes Chiefs are pretty close to even in terms of yardage gained on penalties.

Not even the Pats, huh? I think the two calls that propelled this narrative to what it is now is the holding call in Chiefs-Eagles SB (broadcast showed the wrong angle making it look nefarious), and the Chiefs-Bengals Late Hit the game before that. Neither call was wrong, but twice in big games 1/2

I understand the Taylor Swift effect is obviously something the NFL favors, but this Mahomes narrative has been ongoing for several seasons. It peaked in the “Burrowhead” game.

In that case, it would’ve made more sense to rig things for Rodgers, especially coming off of his MVP season (after Brady’s last SB). A more interesting story would be Rodgers taking either historical franchise Packers or Jets to glory and riding off into the sunset like Payton.

To your point, they’d be better off rigging things for Josh Allen or Lamar. Mahomes is not as charismatic, his stats are down due to the nature of his team, and the nation clearly started getting Chiefs fatigue seasons ago. It makes no sense to rig things for Mahomes.
