Only recently installed CachyOS, wanting to get away from Windows. KDE window management band aids with Kzones etc still doesn't scratch my FancyZones itch. I had never thought about Niri until this and now I'm keen to check it out and change my whole workflow! I need to stop thinking MSWin! TY!

Depends on the games tbf. 90% of things will be fine, but not all competitive games can be played as you may know because Linux won't allow for a kernel-level anti-cheat. CS2 is fine though. I have No Man's Sky running too, haven't gotten around to trying much else.

I did it a few weeks back. The basics were painless. Trying to do a few things takes a bit more work, especially on KDE (e.g. Google Drive - works fine on GNOME I believe). Trying to also set it up to use my camera to replace Windows Hello is a bit of tinkering too...

Gigabyte even state "Warning:
Because BIOS flashing is potentially risky, if you do not encounter problems using the current version of BIOS, it is recommended that you not flash the BIOS. To flash the BIOS, do it with caution. Inadequate BIOS flashing may result in system malfunction."

I still have a 7800x3D so this doesn't impact me, but I've always been wary of updating my BIOS on Gigabyte Mobos (B650 Aorus Elite AX rev 1.2 here), even though I often want to... Advice welcomed.

OMG it bothered me so much because the DBC-150 wasn't quite right, and I know I'd seen the shiny triangle one where the light button is on the DBC... Found it.. the DBM-150! I'm a bit of a watch nerd hah

Too true! I'll focus on learning and stability, workarounds for the things I miss from Windows and getting to grips with Linux after a 25 year or so absence, then maybe if / when I get bored I'll hop haha.

PS love the Casio Databank in Heat Retreat! Reminds me of the DBC-150.

So CachyOS on my NVidia GPU worked well out of the box tbh! When I do upgrade my GPU though it's likely I go AMD anyway. I've heard good things about Bazzite, but I think for my needs and sensibilities, urge to tinker etc, something like CachyOS is more balanced.

Ever since Win 10 EOL was announced I've been eyeing up distros and CachyOS has been my number one option to try since October last year. Will finally sort that this weekend hopefully.

As someone about to make the switch to Linux with KDE Plasma as the DE of choice, and an owner of a Pascal Nvidia GPU, I'm mildly concerned... That said, I've been looking for a reason to upgrade GPU and the AMD option is more tempting daily.

That would be amazing. Tyrian in the booklet also had Steffan Thomas cameo in it!

I played a fair few fighting games in my DOS days and OMF is probably the only one that holds up. I had a blast playing Pray for Death too and even Brutal: Paws of Fury, though both were worse games, with Brutal being really poor.

Curious which version it is!!

I sometimes still hum the theme. Alley Cat was dope!

I loved playing that, but when I found OMF, I never played GORRILLA.BAS again! Plus then Worms came out and yeah, GG.

Been looking into CachyOS, good to know!

No worries! I like to check these things as much as possible before claiming! It's far too easy to share false information these days, and AI generated content is making it harder to discern the truth. Besides, that whole render is all over the place when you look at this in comparison:
