My final (and 10th!!) graduation of 2025 saw Hadija and Zanana taking their degrees in Law and Arts with Education at Tumaini Makumira University, Arusha!
Wishing the very best of luck to all candidates throughout Tanzania, especially Choba graduates of 2023, who will start their FTNA (Form II National Assessment) exams tomorrow. Amina and I visited a few of them yesterday and they are all well and ready to go, go, go!

I took 525 photos at the Choba graduation yesterday and spent the morning reducing them to 274!! Here’s the first few, before we had an hour of something very British - rain stopped play! Congrats to all the Choba teachers for the huge effort & teamwork necessary to make a day like this successful.

Asha Akida is the first Choba graduate to hear that she has a degree!! Historically first at everything (first girl in Pangani District in both Classes IV and VII national exams, equal first Choba graduate at O level), Asha was the first to get her degree results just now.

To me, it doesn't seem long ago that this beautiful young lady was a Class 1 student at Choba Primary School! This is Hadija last Saturday night at her law faculty graduation at Tumaini Makumira University, where her group won a certificate for being Moot Court best group. 1/3

Yesterday we closed the school for the holiday - here are some photos of our prize-giving ceremony. Congratulations to the prizewinners and all the Choba teachers who have worked so hard this term - those of you who are not still teaching Classes IV & VII, have a good rest! A big thanks to you all!

A busy weekend with 5 brilliant Choba graduates starting their A level courses. I took the boys, Ali and Paul, to Marian Boys' (one of the best schools in Tanzania) yesterday, but we made the 6 hour journey on Friday (in heavy rain to begin with).

Another day, another school! Today I visited the 17 Choba graduates at Capuchin Boys' Secondary School, who drank sodas and took turns to call their parents on my phone (hence just the one photo!) All the boys are well and happy, and those who are sponsored via Children of Choba send huge thanks.
