Grady broke his hip right before his wish — to meet Patrick Mahomes — & had surgery at Children’s Mercy. Happy 1 year anniversary to our facility dog, Patsy! Studies show that dogs can lower stress and anxiety and increase well-being for kids in the hospital. We’re so thankful for our amazing team of pups (and their humans) who bring joy to our patients each day.

The KC community came together to bring comfort and joy to families in the hospital during our 4th annual Night Lights holiday parade. Emergency vehicles, first responders and even Santa surrounded our downtown Adele Hall Campus with bright lights and warm wishes. Thanks to all who helped!

5-year-old Dawson had near-constant ear infections since infancy. When traditional treatments didn't work, our ENT team found success with a new approach: They used a tiny flap of Dawson’s own skin to create a new, healthy surface for his eardrum.

Last week, our Community Room was loaded with 300 amazingly decorated miniature trees for families to choose from to brighten up their hospital room. There was something for everyone, from Hot Wheels to Wicked and even Snoopy's doghouse. Later, Santa and Mrs. Claus stopped by. Happy holidays!

Olivia was diagnosed with biliary atresia at 3 weeks & needed a new liver at 9 months. Fortunately, Children’s Mercy has some of the shortest transplant wait times in the country. Olivia had a new liver only 9 days after being listed!
