In 1969 Nixon White House bullied CBS into canceling the Smothers Brothers comedy hour. In 1973 courts decided that CBS had canceled the show out of censorship. CBS pay fine. The Brothers thought that even though the fine wasn’t a lot, the point was winning against censorship.
