I personally dont see Destiny as the credential for shooter combat many others do, its needlessly floaty and feels bad. Marathon brings back some good weight/feel to it. Encounters ending within 1hp are maddening and feel like a Destiny Problem but outside of those it feels like Halo w/o grunts

It looks feels and plays very sharp! Marathon is doing a lot of the What-If-We-Made-Tarkov-Fun correctly. It definitely needs more could-be-useful-someday-or-insanely-valuable-now junk to pick up (any non-Tarkov does) but the implicit rules of PvEvP engagement are much clearer than Arc Raiders.

the whole game has a vague halfway-down-the-uncanny-valley AI Star Wars type of vibe in its writing and voices. It looks nice and plays okay (if a bit jank in the scramble/mantle department and occasionally very poorly in its hit registration et al) but there's definitely an emptiness to it.
