Week 3 has come and with it comes an illustration inspired by the short story "Phantoms" by Ivan Turgenev.
The story's last chapter features this very unusual, indistinct description of what the writer reffers to as "the shadow of death" and I really wanted to try and portray it as described.

Week 2 (me catching up to it) of the Gothic Russian Tales Project. This week's Short Story is "The Family of the Vourdalak" by Aleksei Tolstoy.
This one has the vibe of a real classical Vampire story, and also doubles as another excercise in me trying to figure out how to draw hair good.

Wasn't gonna do one of these until I realized that COVID is pretty much when I started doing digital art at all, so I feel like I definetly have come a long way. There's still plenty more to polish but I'm happy to have stuck with drawing for as long as I have.
