I just voted against Proposition Q in #Austin - LMK if you want to know why I think it’s so important for my fellow Austinites to do the same! #NoOnQ

After seeing Dwight Yoakam in #Austin this week, it only makes sense to listen to his hero - the Bakersfield sound of Buck Owens. I’ve Got A Tiger By The Tail, 1965. #LP

Today’s #vinyl spin is Frank Sinatra’s 1958 classic Come Fly With Me. This track is Brazil - a brilliant version. Ol’ Blue Eyes kicks off the weekend!

Today’s #vinyl spin: 1964 classic from Stan Getz & Joao (and Astrid) Gilberto. Absolute perfection.

Today’s #vinyl - Elvis Costello’s immortal “My Aim Is True.” It’s amazing that a 1977 album holds up as well as this one does - it’s still fresh, 48 years later.

Today’s #vinyl. The Boomtown Rats brilliant 1979 new wave classic, The Fine Art of Surfacing.

Today’s #vinyl spin: The latest album from Austin’s honky tonk queen, Kathryn Legendre. If you ever get a chance to see her play live (especially at the White Horse) you’ve gotta do it. She’s terrific.

Today’s spin: John Cougar, eponymous, 1979. Great stuff.

Today’s spin: INXS 1982 classic Shabooh Shoobah. My band covered this song, “Don’t Change,” in 1985. The original version is slightly better.

Today’s spin: John Mellencamp’s 1989 classic, “Big Daddy.” He was at his absolute best on this record. Definitely under-appreciated 35 years later.

Today’s spin: The Alarm’s sophomore album from 1985 - Strength. RIP to frontman Mike Peters.

Today’s #vinyl is a 1979 French re-press of the 1953 original from Django Reinhardt. He was beyond genius, and this is a really nice collection.

Today’s new (old) #vinyl comes from 1978 - one of the most impressive debuts in my memory. The Police: Outlandos d’Amour

I’ve lived in #Austin for 15 years, but now I can really call myself an Austinite - I’ve seen Bob Schneider at the Saxon Pub.

Today’s #vinyl: The Police, Regatta de Blanc, 1979. Incredibly ahead-of-their-time.

When this album came out in 1980, it blew my 13-year-old mind. AC/DC Back in Black LP #vinyl

I’ve been trying to catch this guy for the last couple of days, but he’s really fast. Finally got him today and released him back outside. No more stealing my favorite chair! Sadly, I will no longer be saving 15% by bundling home and auto.
