Making sure the Sun doesn't explode, one Nubby at a time.

Not the developer of Nubby's Number Factory.
Telling they have to give these terrible things away for free.

It's remarkable scrolling through Chuckles' Bluesky posts and seeing an endless sea of ratio'd posts with people begging for him to find a spine.

Hard to see this as anything but wilful ignorance.

It's funny to me that protesting armed thugs acting lawlessly is "raising the political temperature", but actively seeking to change the law of the land so that you can escape the consequences of selling carcinogens and lying about it isn't. Remarkable, that.

These people assume that the average people is a drooling, incurious moron. It's such a dismal view of humanity.

The federal NDP's upper management should be understood as grifters in the Schumer/Jeffries vein. What people want more than anything is to be listened to, to see actual principles on the ground.

Hedging and hemming on obvious problems taught rank-and-file that the Party abandoned them.

I think an understated part of this is that American automakers are producing ridiculous luxury SUVs that are incredibly frail and massively expensive.

American aggression is definitely part of the story but the American automakers are also making a frankly inferior product.

Yup! I threw it at someone who wanted "more communism" and I poked my nose in to learn how inadequate my education on communism was in undergrad (very). Appreciate you setting it up!

Make sure you aren't wearing buttons or they'll accuse you of unmitigated blasphemy!

I just got to Peter Balkan and it was a tremendous album. I was so impressed even if I was a couple of months late to the party. Can't wait for the new stuff!

This really confirms my suspicions that the NDP is being driven into the ground by Ottawa-based brunchlords whose primary concern is which $50/plate restaurant to go to on any given night.

LAAAAAAAAAAAAUR! Absolutely priceless.

I think I need to watch this again this weekend.

The line "Judge Bitch" during the Obligatory 90s Ladies Fight sends me every single time I rewatch this movie. Excellent pick.

My attempts to use LLMs have gone largely negatively and I don't feel compelled to use them, but they are not innately evil.

The executives claiming that LLMs will take everyone's jobs are easy to hate, and I think Bluesky is largely right to hate them.

Conflating the two is easy, if incorrect.
January 15, 2026 at 7:19 PM
LLMs are ineffective and awful and their propagators are lying constantly, but this is fundamentally a deal to preserve Wikipedia's server capacity and to standardize how these charlatans acquire data they were taking for free before.

I don't think these two ideas are impossible to marry.

You might also want to check in with Minnesota's Indigenous population with regards to the "this is not who we are" thing. It's very much historically who you are.

This is an inflection point, a chance to be something else.

The 90th time we plead for the guy whose (ghostwritten) book's thesis is "always be on the offensive, never negotiate" to stop attacking and negotiate will surely work!

This act is getting stale. You live in extraordinary times for the American republic. Time to act like it.

Wishlisted!

"Someone who goes to a baseball game to root for the umpire" is a phrase I will be borrowing, thank you very much.

May I introduce the National Anthem of Quebec? This gets you about 25% of the way through out here.

The only rationale for remaining on the sexual harassment website is capitulation to our colonial overlords.

Thanks for doing this work. I've long wanted to see the numbers but have no interest in making a Twitter account so as to do the counting.
