Without spoiling much. I thought the Sonic 3 movie was a pretty damn good Sonic movie. There were definitely some moments in the movie that gave me a good laugh, and I gotta appreciate all the references to the original games.
So far, I think the trilogy (as of the moment) have been pretty fun-
