No. Meritocracy is American fantasy. It this was pure meritocracy, “networking” to get into the “hidden job market” wouldn’t be a thing. LinkedIn’s entire existence is based on this principle.

My people. Cut the cord. It’s 1984-esque media in the US bought and paid for. The goal is to keep you participating without question as oligarchs exploit more. I’ve never felt less crazy once cable news access ended.
