Because AIs that can output and AIs focused SOLELY on output are two very different things and need to be distinguished for further study.

I won't deny that she has ASPECTS of a generative AI.

But for the generative AI that I am referring to is output above all else.

Putting all AI that can produce output under that label alone can be INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS and DAMAGING.

That is why I pushed generative AI to its own category.

We...actually get to confirm if Dorothy is just an unreliable narrator...or the Pilgrims did fuck up.

And we get to find out how TRULY evil the Ark is. Was it just that Dorothy wanted in and no one else did?

Was she told something different?

Were they all lied to?

AI has GENUINELY so much potential behind the marketing CRAP that the big people are trying to peddle.

And it is DISGUSTING how they have taken the term AI and disgraced it.

Because it used to mean something. Now it is just...

What a program can produce for output.

And my output is that I'm sad.

Because I have followed AI for YEARS before it became "trendy" with the Generative stuff.

Spell check. Applications to help with code in Excel or auto-complete in Word and programming and email.

Monopoly board players.

Neuro-sama and being an OSU bot that became so much more!

But...I would love to see LESS Generative AI and more analytical AI. I would love to see true CREATIVE AI.

Taking first steps with ethically sourced databases and code to learn to draw in iterative models.

Or create programs of itself that it can debug and truly become independent.

And people wonder why the AIs get worse when fed its own stuff? Because it is just output to output.

Like feeding a reactor its own waste. Or a human rebreathing its own CO2. It ain't gonna function for long on its own crap.

And that again is by design. Because the output is just that. Output.

THIS is what people are so upset about.

Slop. AI garbage. Clankers. All this crap.

Is talking crap about a machine who's SOLE function is to produce output. It does not care what. It does not care about consent.

Generative AI is nothing but output. It is designed to do that from the GROUND up.

The fact that it is a particular type of AI. Generative.

Not creative. Not analytical. Nothing but generative.

It is designed to create output. Simple as that. Nothing more. All the difference is in the database to flavor the output.

It is designed to create as much as possible within guidelines.

HOWEVER. once you get past that hurdle (that VERY few can get past these days)

Then you get past the gate and get into a VERY interesting realm. And this image is a WONDERFUL example of the uncanny Valley that GENERATIVE AI can do.

Now. You may have noticed something.

I focused in on something.

It does not matter where AI came from or what it does if the material makers did not get consent.

It's not even complicated.

It's the same as a student "learning" by cheating. The teacher did not consent to teach the child that way so the education is unethical and the child should have to repeat.
