TRANS HORROR HAS MY ENTIRE HEART! a boy gets bitten by a werewolf while recovering from top surgery! its about monsterhood and the desperation to conform and realizing a life while trans is worth living. OF COURSE THIS IS AMAZING.

if you need a bit of hope amongst the absolute barrage of news about people being cruel and insistent on causing harm, then please read The House Of Quiet. it’s about teens with odd magical abilities who are sent away to be “fixed,” but that secrets behind that fixing are many and horrific.

god this book absolutely wrecked me with how brilliant it is. a story about the first female mage ever admitted to the High Magesitry, and the unraveling of her city that she uncovers. about the horrors of oppression, of how the violence the powerful inflict rots everything from the inside out.

this book is beyond gorgeous. filled with murderous flowers ideal for torture, a family soaked in blood, and a princess who must kill her betrothed to avenge her murdered twin, if she can resist falling in love with him.

found a store near me that showcases local artists and found one that is so blatantly queer and neurodivergent made me want to cry? i live somewhere with a lot of trump signs and it can be a challenge to find people like me so this was just really really great to see.

yes, you absolutely do want to read a book about a magical college about a grad student with anxiety trying to pass her qualifying exam with the help of a talking skull, while also uncovering an ableist plot to get rid of disabled students. it’s spectacular.
