I had to give up. Every take was so closed minded and dense and short sighted that it's not even fair to continue. Call yourself a sad music fan and not a Swiftie, because you're not an actual, honorable Swiftie if you are a fan of only albums and not Taylor Alison Swift the artist, businesswoman, musician, songwriter, and lastly, person with valid feelings and experiences.

It's also worth noting that I spoke up in the Twitch chat in defense of Taylor, her lyrics, and the intentional ironies within, and I was muted from sending messages. This person was not here to host a "discuss" stream, this person hosted a "here are my superficial, incomprehensible, and accusatory statements shrouded as opinions and anyone who isn't here to stroke my ego and spew validation is not welcome" stream.
I realize that there are many folks who do this and feel this way, but this person has a large following and claims to be a Fearless Swiftie. It saddens me to see such a long-time "fan" lose touch with who Taylor is and how she composes her music. If you prefer the 2020-2024 albums, that's fine, but that Taylor was miserable. THIS is the most "Taylor" Taylor we've had since then. She is happy, she is embodying her cringe millennialism, she is in love, confident, on top of the friggin' world.
2020 lyrics came from depression, desertion, incompatibility, and so many other things she didn't deserve to feel. Objectively, these lyrics are just as deep, profound, and meaningful. even when 180'd to the other side, and the problem lies within the inability to comprehend that.
That Taylor was depressed. That Taylor was begging to be seen, heard, and appreciated. That Taylor wanted to verifiably kill herself.
And to say you prefer that? Or that she needs to go back to that simply because you "don't get it"?
A slow, depressing music fan, maybe. But a loving, knowing, all-in fan of Taylor Swift the person?
No, I'm sorry, but the Swiftie badge is not for you.

My chaotic rambling via Teams the other day has me wanting to articulate my thoughts when they need to come out. I feel I’ve always been somewhat of a decent writer.

What do we even use for long-form content now? Surely not tumblr or blogspot?

Another big issue I have with all the outlandish takes on this album is the failure to realize that music is NOT linear.

These people want so badly for double entendres to be single entendres and mean only what they interpreted, and they don’t realize the huge disservice they’re causing themselves.
