When I was reorganizing my hard drives at the end of last year, I made a note that I should probably convert all my old SWF files to videos at some point. Just to avoid them becoming unusable in the future. Clearly it was a good note to make...

One of the most important programs in animation history just, poof, gone. Time for everybody to go back to Flash 8 and get the best version of the brush tool

I was super lucky that I purchased a physical copy of the CS6 suite back in...2012? I was making Flash video tutorials for a university, so it made sense. Thanks to that off chance I've never had to subscribe to CC bullshit, and now those fuckers can never take my Flash away from me

Never thought I'd see the day when YouTube became the superior show reel platform (Barely)

Be thankful you never did, cherish it

I was going through files from 2005 the other month, and was reminded not only of "w00t" but also "glomp". That may be the last time I uttered either...

Good question. I'd imagine it's probably easier to get people to click if it's a link in your description. But I think you'd need some kind of notification that the link is there in your video

I'd say treat it like any other folio or reel, showcase your best stuff. The scripts you think would be the most useful, or impressive. You can always link to your Gumroad so people can explore the rest after watching

I'd say a fast and obvious example of the script working in practice, with a small bit of text outlining what it's doing. Avoid showing/scrolling through the code, you could always show that off via a GitHub link or something similar

The true tycoons were the friends you played with along the way

Have you ever tried multiplayer with OpenRCT2? It's chill to play with friends

Just Libre Office Calc, their Excel equivalent. Super easy to convert those files to CSVs so I can work with the data in Python scripts as well, that's how I do my rig time breakdowns. Here's an example of what that looks like using an old job

To be fair, these reasons are what I was given or what I responded to outreach with. It's entirely possible I was too expensive in more cases, but people chose to give another reason instead ahaha. I do also turn down some projects before getting to budget discussions as well
