The genuinely useful thing I've done with notebookLM is to translate regulations from legalese to English. This seems to work well because the amount of synthesis required is limited, the sources are very structured, and I already have experience in the domain. Beyond that, it just breaks down.

The other way round IME. They're excuses not to build proper bike paths from local govt. Paint a white line and hang a blue sign. Much cheaper than laying an extra 2m of tarmac.

What's the opposite of shame?

There is a deep stack of such sticks outside our front door. Probably a nice little ecosystem going on at the bottom.

Only in its strong form, eg "I didn't mean to."
The weak form is pronounced "tuh" eg "I went to bed."
Loads of "glue" words have weak forms: Of, that, the, can etc. They're not something you learn at school, but their absence is common when English is learned as an adult.

Which do you find more pleasing, the even numbered one that shares the central vertex but decomposes into uneven triangles, or the odd, with the awkward central triangle but lovely rotational symmetry?

Oh, well then you're throwing away free money here! (Although maybe there's modelling/data that says you get more total income by only offering a high tier?)

I asked my granddad who said we can't any more we don't know how etcetc
November 14, 2025 at 7:12 AM
Would you consider adding a "throw me a buck" tier for those too tight to pay for ad-free but still want to support your work a little? One download and listen to the ads can't earn you more than a few cents right?

Ew. Don't say that.

If you want C2 continuity (which you do for cars) NURBS are still the only game in town.

Elon Musk is like one of the grotesque caricatures running a society that Contact is fucking with.
Our hero: "Looks like these guys are ramping up space exploration, they can't be all that bad."
Sarcastic drone: "Let me show you who's in charge of that..."
