USA only produces half the aluminum they need....and the country lacks the electric power to make more.
Without Canadian aluminum, a lot of manufacturing will vanish from America.

Let’s be clear about what this graph really says:
Canada’s GDP per capita ‘stagnated’ because a lot of not-so-rich newcomers came here.
USA’s GDP per capita grew because the rich are getter a lot richer, really fast.
Canada did the right thing.

Liquefying and shipping natural gas as LNG is an inherently inefficient process: it consumes almost a third of the energy resource.
But gas energy piped or transmitted as electricity could efficiently deliver Arctic energy to North American markets.

Canada's largest conventional natural gas fields are the Drake and Hecla gas fields on Melville Island’s Sabine Peninsula. When discovered in 1969, the reserves were considered unmarketable. That might not be the case today.
