It’s like the guy I argued with in 2017 about how there WERE passport controls at Dover and that NO, the refugees given residency in Germany would NOT be able to enter the UK freely.
And his business? Arranging tours by music groups/bands!! (And he voted for leaving the EU)

Article seems to conflate Schengen passport-free arrangements with Freedom of Movement rights, as do many British people.

The issues with the referendum are red herrings, pure and simple.
UK has no tradition or constitutional place for binding referenda. Decisions are taken by the government of the day, acting in the name of the sovereign, and then (sometimes) enacted by Parliament.
We the people count for nothing.

Not “elected”… *selected* by the politicians

And all the idiots in 2015/6/7 who were promoting “UK will continue to have access to single market”.
They were all right!
UK has *access*, as do all companies/countries. BUT the goods (and services) must comply with the EEA rules.
How do you prove that without documents, certificates and testing.

How it is an integral part of the Single Market, and that it is reciprocated among all participants. (And it has nothing to do with passport-free Schengen border crossings.)

Surely for the majority of llanitos, Gibraltar IS home?

So breaching Art 1, 3, 4 of NATO treaty, and preparing to trigger Art 5.
Lovely.

EES has nothing to do with Freedom of Movement.

Being a Third Country is the problem.

A government that still uses X-Twitter is condoning child abuse and sexual predators.

Then again hardly surprising for a government that thought Epstein’s chum Mandelson would make a good ambassador.

Milligan tried several times to get a British passport, but being born in British India with a UK-Citizen Irish father (this was before Irish independence), meant he was denied, ‘cos “rules”.

And the lorry/truck drivers

I’ll believe it when the Art 49 application is lodged.
UK and EU have diverged so much over the last few years (one for pure ideology, and the other to advance in line with technology), that I fear that the re-alignment will outlast my lifetime.

Goes back to the impact assessment documents held in thr Commons library that precious few of our elected representatives bothered to access!

Travel bans won’t work: they probably don’t have passports
