Actually, Casablanca is featured in the novel. The movie is the same length, but the cigarettes themselves are digitally removed, making for some interesting hand gestures.

There was a 1990 Arthur C. Clarke novel, The Ghost of the Grand Banks, where one character's backstory is that he made a fortune sanitizing old movies of vices such as smoking to make the films palatable to modern audiences.
