Well, I'm a professional writer and editor, so I really should've scanned it before I sent it!

I might be able to help with some of the text and editing as well. I'd do a much better job proofing than what I gave you in my earlier comment.

$50? I'm in. (Really, I'd like to see somebody redo the original set as well—some of those original cards were pretty bad (Josh Gibson, Rube Walker, Jake Beckley, Oscar Charleston, Judy Johnson, etc.) I wouldn't say no to a reimagining of those cards as well.

Ugh, I wish I'd learned about this yesterday.

Those are awesome!

I've noticed more Negro Leaguers in @gummyarts.bsky.social's timeline lately. Maybe he's working on a project JUST FOR US. All the cards are awesome and should be in our collections.

I'm so glad you were the one who bought this. I strongly considered it, myself. It'd be awesome if it made a future set.

Cigar Box made a great series with one card for each of Satch's uniforms. It turned out really well.

I don't collect the Dodgers specifically, but I love that this set exists.

I wish something like it existed for the Pirates.

(I also think that there should be a Target Dodgers update series every 10-15 years.)

I wonder if he might've been a tag-along—as a spectator, guest, or BP pitcher for Johnny Callison.

Chris Short?

That's a stupid policy. People learn how to write by reading good writing, and they learn how to write complex sentences by reading complex sentences. Stop dumbing down writing for the masses.

I've met members of the Sundays, Bauhaus (David J twice), the Creatures, Velocity Girl, Alison Moyet, Sharon Van Etten, Tanya Donelly, Kristin Hersh, Suzanne Vega, and Johnny Marr. All of them were very nice.

1. Wait till he finds out that he actually has 23 cards.

2. Wait till he finds out that his dad now has 25 cards, thanks to the Topps Heritage buybacks.

(Totals from TCDb, but I'm sure each has at least 5-6 more cards than what's referenced here.)

You are correct. It's a Sportservice.

I think this may be Joan's only card. I uploaded the Whoozit Sports checklist to TCDb and was surprised that I had to create a record for her. Maybe some Mets collector out there knows of others?

You're too kind.

This is a set I'd like to work on, but I already collect too many things, so we'll see....

Nice! We love the minimum bid! I have the Josh Gibson coming via the eBay seller, but all the others are still at COMC.

Those 1996 playing cards don't show up very often; however, two batches turned up for sale recently, so I was able to get all my Grays and Crawfords.

I also posted the full checklist to TCDb: www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/... .

If you have access to a good scanner, we need images!

Maybe we'll see it in 2028 Topps Heritage....

I think the authors got it right—it sounds like they're trying to screw people out of a tax credit by making it much harder to register for Social Security. It probably also makes it easier to pretend that the children are "illegal" or that they should be denied other benefits.

Yeah, but I'd support the idea if it means we could send all the MAGAs there and leave the rest of us alone in peace. The planet's already red.
March 6, 2025 at 3:13 PM
Is there a physical card of this? If so, I'd love to get one!

Time to go after the team issues and the J.D. McCarthy postcards.
