It’s an interesting point, but it’s definitely a gamble that risks voter support. It’ll be a while before we know whether it pays off.

Let's assume they're at terminal velocity (about 60 m/s). A 600 foot tall half pipe has a radius of roughly 250 meters.
So they'd experience (60*60)/250 = 14.4 m/s of centripetal acceleration, or about 1.47 g's, which is totally survivable

That looks like a beautiful text display.
My first modem was 300 baud. I could type faster than it could transmit. I sometimes had live chats with BBS sysops and it took longer than it would have had we just picked up the phone and spoke to one another. But it wouldn’t have been as much fun.
