There won't be any unofficial defections at the moment because you aren't forced to resign. Regarding parties moving away from MPs, surely the 2015 Labour Party direction was substantially different to what was voted in. Tories 2016-17 the same.

Come on, how does it work in relation to unofficial defection? I'm going to remain in your party but vote along the lines of the opposition on every vote? Maybe even pass them internal documents. Even if the principle is correct, it just doesn't work on a practical level.

What about unofficial defection? What about someone who says my politics haven't changed, the party has changed away from me?

Make half the tax based on weight. Half the tax based on emissions. 10 bands for each from £0 to £lots. Could even add bikes in (as people moan about them) but exempt them from registering if they are in the bottom band of both.

You could cut MPs expenses by 90% easily. Move staff to a central structure, buy 650 constituency homes (equivalent to vicars), 600ish London flats and 650 constituency offices, and give each a rail season ticket between home and parl. Same costs overall, but expenses to MPs disappear.

What proportion of those motorbike deaths are caused by issues on the bike side? All of the measures are focused on the bike side but I would have thought a good number of motorbike deaths relate to cars.

I've always assume immigrants vote in the opposite way to the perceived position of their origin country. I.e. I would expect Chinese or Vietnamese immigrants to be right wing, those from the US to be left.

I don't have any evidence of this though.

Not disagreeing about FPTP being crazy but it's prob more about the 18% lab drop than the 3% SNP increase.

I saw something a while ago - the Iraq was was popular 2:1 for. Whenever the follow up survey was done (10..15 years later) and asked what their opinion at the time was, the result came back 2:1 against.

Near to 3,000 in French. Can read it but not much else. Duolingo used to be good but it has long suffered from a process of enshitification. For me now, it's far more of an addiction than a language learning tool.
