As smarter people than me have pointed out, everything that's bad and expensive about HS2 has come from attempting to satisfy the complaints of people who never did and never will accept the basic concept

Yes and no. Mainly no. The worst of the movie came from characters and narratives that simply don't exist in the book

Well I hadn't even considered that 😬

I get these all the time. The most recent had the subject 'I LOVED your cover!' which is, you know, not even trying anymore....?

It's so easy to get through these groups (most 3rd places also progress) that it's probably better to play tougher teams early on, experience some real opposition before the knockouts

Also Firefox now suddenly unable to remember to open new links in the existing window. It's fine, it's fine, but it's definitely annoying

The original sin of Wicked was splitting it into two films. From that point, the second one was always going to be weaker, thinner, more in need of filler. In that context, it's pretty much as good as anyone could do.

Except, they apparently forgot that their source material is THE WIZARD OF OZ!

Properly recast Dorothy. Have her sing Somewhere over the rainbow. Do the black-and-white-to-colour transition. Then return to Wicked, and run the two stories in parallel. Not saying it would be easy, but given the available budget, definitely achievable

They had the opportunity to revisit and remake one of the iconic films of all time, one of the 20th century's cultural figureheads. If you're looking for filler, why not start there?

Reminds me of the early days of podcasts circa 2009 when audio would be ripped straight from TV panel shows and released as podcasts. Didn't work then, doesn't work now

Presenters making hand gestures and giving each other gifts and never stopping to tell podcast listeners what's going on

This take has been cancelled so many times. It's the same guy, just in different eras.

It was a very slick edit! Normally you'd be impressed with that. But given the context, a bit too good

Gotcha, yes makes sense
