Deffo. I think the overarching goal was, first, to eradicate what remained of progressive tendencies within Labour, and then, longer term, destroy the party as a credible electoral force.

I'm sure it will! Taken with the extreme volatility now characterising FPTP, their conscious decision to antagonise all of Labour's natural supporters and their palpable inability to chart a different path, the omens are not good!
