That's possible. French is my 2nd language so I'm honestly not too familiar with French idioms. Maybe "Je croise les doigts pour toi."? That might be a way around it (at least until they are older lol).

"Merde" is technically right here, but there isn't really a universally accepted French translation I don't think. I'd probably go with "Bonne chance" (good luck)
