I will, until the game inevitably reminds me of why I love to hate and hate to love it 😂 But thanks!

Now that was actually one of the best ones I could land on, because I was looking for a new SRPG once I finish all 6 Ace Attorney games on DS and 3DS and now I want to replay Berwick Saga 😄

"Shouzou Kaga, the game’s creative lead and strategy-loving force behind Nintendo’s Fire Emblem series, had 173 further “chapters” written up in a notebook somewhere—the unmistakable sign of a visionary artiste who had finally disappeared up their own turn-based battle system." ❤️

You're not crazy! I managed to get it for cheap, actually, about 40$ on Polish Allegro for 14. I tried to avoid Pachinko as much as possible and just enjoy the life-sim aspect of it, as I did in SBC 😄 But I agree, it's very niche and the cover art doesn't really let on what a gem is hidden inside.

I mentioned it before, but Steambot Chronicles is one of the best games of all time and Pachi Para 14 is actually an amazing life-sim in a similar vein, even if you do not care for Pachinko at all. I have played it on your recommendation and enjoyed it thoroughly. Irem were wizards.

7 characters, 9 in total, yes. I know exactly what you mean, but I am not sure if those are "Patty/Flynn-sized holes" or just our reinterpretation after playing the PS3 version. It's easier to notice an absence after you're aware that there can be something.
January 22, 2026 at 7:54 AM
Yep, in that case it's Vesperia. And it's kinda blatant. If you go to the Lighthouse in Capua Torim on the 360, there is a pirate hat with a name on it that can "barely be read" and it says "Pa". That's the only hint but after the PS3 version you're just wondering, did they plan this already then?
January 22, 2026 at 7:43 AM
Unless you specifically mean the extra characters, in which case Vesperia is so far the only one, because Graces does not exactly count and Destiny R is a full-blown remake.
January 22, 2026 at 7:37 AM
It was not. In a way it started with Symphonia which was re-released on PS2 with extra skits, hi-ougi etc. Vesperia was next in line, then Graces.

As for @kimimithegameeatingshemonster.com, the series is amazing. I highly recommend Tales of the Abyss at least!

That's basically my mood every morning when I read the news nowadays, down to that facial expression of "Just let me be."

You know, the 8 wars. Or maybe 9. And Aberbaijan.

Hope this helps.

It's actually an ok game, if you're not expecting a full-blown RPG but rather a Mystic Quest-even-lighter. And even that game had its fans and a banger soundtrack.

I'd be really interested in reading your full thoughts on it. Especially since I personally cannot get into RE since the reboot, while I still somewhat enjoyed 5 and 6. I don't even know why. I cursed 5 at the time, but now I feel ok about it and miss the original 3 still.
January 15, 2026 at 10:44 AM
NATO is dead once an actual case of article 5 is rejected by the majority of its members. What I'd say, though, is that it's as close to dead as it ever was and if we don't, at least in Europe, get our shit together, we will all be dog food. It's high time for the EU to rise to the challenge.

That said there are people who absolutely love it as well as people who absolutely despise it. I'm somewhere in the middle. It's the worst PB game to me, but it's still ok for one playthrough. Just lower your expectations to R2 instead of E1. And don't let the E1 ending excite you, too much.

Combat and exploration by jetpack have been improved, but it's not enough to make up for the technical issues, the bad quests, bland story and completely messed up character personalities. It also felt the least PB of them all and I can't even really say why.
December 7, 2025 at 10:19 PM
That's what we all want to know. Development switched from their in-house engine to UE4, characters and animations look fugly, especially the MC, Jax. The second half of the game is basically just mass slaughter quests, the story also suffers from a lack of direction and these bland quests.
December 7, 2025 at 10:18 PM
make sense, as if the original MC was originally planned and later replaced. It's an ok to good game, just nothing groundbreaking, especially in PBs formula. Elex I feel is much better and the closest to the original G1.
December 7, 2025 at 10:11 PM
right direction, but it's still pretty rough and the pirate setting might not be for everyone. I also didn't like the ship battles at all. Factions were interesting, though. R3 also shows a bit of retcon. I won't spoil anything here but the MC is not the one from R1 & R2 and some things don't quite

Worth a mention, I'm a huge Gothic veteran. I have a whole disk partition just for G1/2 and their mods. So I'm not speaking from just having played each game once ages ago. Us Gothic fans were hoping for PB to get back on track since R2, but it just never really happened. R3 goes a bit more in the

It is much better than 2, in my opinion, but still much worse than 1. The PB formula works, but the game is stupidly easy. I like it, just replayed it again last year, it's definitely enjoyable. If I had to rank the games I'd say:

G1 9/10
G2 10/10
G3 7/10
R1 8/10
R2 5/10
R3 6.5/10
E1 8/10
E2 5/10

Personally I feel it almost only went downhill after Risen 1. Elex was quite good still, but nothing beats the classics that are G1 & G2.
December 7, 2025 at 9:47 PM
I love the games, though I was never a big fan of time pressure. There's actually a fan patch keeping the online gameplay alive on PCSX2 and it's super fun to play.

You are. But it's not yet 100% in the saddle and could still be thrown off, but it will be tough, require a lot of civil courage, a united opposition and some spine (seems impossible) from some of the current spineless enablers.
