🧵 Farage’s latest proposal to strip away the rights of our friends and neighbours, those who came here to work hard and contribute, is the natural conclusion of the big lie that all of societies' ills are the fault of immigrants.

This should be great news for commuters in NE Herts.

Taking GTR back into public hands is a big opportunity for lower fares, more reliable services and a railway that works for us, not shareholders.

I'll be pushing in Parliament for public transport that puts passengers before profit at long last.

Awful news from Manchester this morning.

My thoughts are with everyone affected.

So many reminders across North East Hertfordshire of the efforts made by our whole country during WW2, including donating to Wings for Victory to support the RAF as commemorated in this plaque I spotted in Radwell.

This is part of our national history we should always remember and be proud of.

Tories handing lucrative COVID contracts to their mates has cost UK taxpayers £1.4bn.💸

PPE Medpro—linked to Conservative Peer Baroness Mone and her husband—must rightly pay £122m for flogging unsterile PPE to the NHS.

Time to get our money back and take corporate hands out the public purse.

Labour is right to send the frackers packing.

Fracking won’t cut bills—it will vandalise our countryside to enrich fossil fuel giants.

It was an honour to join this Battle of Britain remembrance service in Letchworth, convened by our local branch of the Royal Air Forces Association.

Revd Canon Lindsay Dew’s address was very moving—a poignant tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who fought to protect the UK from fascism.

A secure home is the foundation of a happy life.

Families are trapped in insecurity because profiteering developers won’t build truly affordable homes.

Labour has promising plans, but solving this crisis requires transformation.

Smash the status quo: we need council housing!

Scrapping the two-child cap could lift 470,000 children out of poverty.

If the Government wants national renewal, it must invest in our greatest asset: young people.

Give them the best chance in life—better education, more opportunity, and we all benefit.

It’s common sense.
Is the government about to lift the two-child benefit cap?
Pre-conference pressure means the policy could be abolished next week. But why has it taken so long?

I welcome the CMA’s action on Ticketmaster—but it doesn’t tackle the scourge of dynamic pricing, random added fees, or touts using bots to sweep up tickets and resell at extortionate prices.

Profit-driven schemes are ruining live events for real fans. This must change.

Everyone deserves a warm, safe and affordable home.

That won't be possible unless the Government tackles the housing crisis.

@chrishinchliff.bsky.social recently invoked Labour icon and NHS founder Aneurin Bevan in a passionate call for more council homes.

From December, commuters in Letchworth, Baldock, Ashwell and Royston will see faster journeys, more peak-time trains, and better-spaced services—a welcome step forward.

As we bring our railways back under public control we must deliver faster, more reliable and cheaper services.

The labour movement must fight this every step of the way and deliver the change people voted for by ripping up the cosy consensus between the state and big business that is making us all poorer.

If your answer to our problems is to go after people like my barber who do the right thing and who keep our high streets alive—you can get in the bin. 🚮

Reform will defend our privatised, rip-off status quo by pointing the finger at people like my barber.

The Tories are toast, so Reform are taking their place as the political mouthpiece of the ultra-rich class that has been robbing our communities blind.

Farage seeks to turn us against these people because they are an easier target than the corporate vested interests responsible for driving up house prices, sky-high energy bills and low wages.

I've been going to the same barber for the last 3 years.

Having come to the UK he works hard day in day out, even when fasting during Ramadan. Always friendly, welcoming, a part of the fabric of our community.

He does far more for the high street than Amazon or Blackrock.

We’ve inherited a desperate housing crisis: 170,000 children in temporary accommodation.

Childhood doesn’t come with a second chance.

Without a secure home, children are robbed of potential & our country of its future.

The solution is council housing.

The recognition of Palestine is momentous, especially given Britain’s historic role in the region.

It must be a platform for more action—Britain helping to build lasting peace.

That starts with further sanctions on Israel to stop the genocide.

The Hillsborough Law entering Parliament is historic.

We must consign a culture of cover-ups to the dustbin of history.

Hillsborough, Grenfell, the Post Office scandal—all made worse by lies.

I’ll back this Bill and support efforts to keep it watertight.

The SEND system is broken and needs serious reform.

I support @dcpcampaign.bsky.social in calling for no child to be left behind.

This can't just be about councils trying to cut costs.

We must end the battles too many families are fighting for their children and improve outcomes for all.
