I do wonder if this takes it into grandparent territory. A desire to share the things you loved with a generation that has no interest, and that feeling of being disconnected with what today's kids are into. Too much goodwill invested in this series now for them to just make a cash grab.

I guarantee they're going to use the line "we're going back to something more in line with the tone and feel of the original movie"...which is 100% what Dante purposefully did NOT do with his sequel, which is why it works so well.

100%. Watching The Princess Bride with my kids recently, they immediately cheered because they knew him from Young Sheldon (their minds exploded when I told him he's also Rex in Toy Story).
