On smaller boats there are removable keels but also retractable. There's a boat (log canoe) that used to be used for fishing but now for racing. They use a retractable centerboard. A pretty interesting rig as well though today they have massive sails so capsize easily.

No keel and I don't see a sideboard? Do they struggle with moving in a line or do you keep the wind behind you? It sounds very manual but still fun. Many old boats on the Chesapeake had very shallow drafts and/or removeable keels to deal with the depths that can go from 60 feet to 3 feet of water.

Many US politicians won't demand regulation for social media because they either have a bunch of stock in the companies or have kids working there in high paying jobs. But I've never understood why the rest of the world doesn't regulate them.

This is obviously true and eventually countries are going to have to address this problem. It's a rigged system and social media rewards extreme behavior.

Super simple. Sauteed onion/garlic plus carrots and roasted tomato, then some fresh thyme and bay leaf. Apparently the beans came from Argentina around 100 years ago. I love seeing them in the autumn markets.

I only smoked briefly, during a stressful period years ago and thankfully had no problem stopping. I'll probably have a few glasses of wine every now and then but thought it was easier to just give it up completely for a while.

In my case, I gave up meat and also cut added sugar. I've been on the dry since early this year and may have a glass or two of wine over the holidays. Only a few moments with refined flour and most of the apero foods outside of raw veggies.

The paimpol beans have been in the markets the last 3 weeks though I don't know how long they'll stick around. They're very tasty though not as creamy as borlotti beans, but well worth the cooking.

I like both a lot but do tend to favor borlotti beans. I'm hoping to find them at the market next weekend because I only saw them at a few stands, after I bought these.
