Alright, here we go: My Top 10 Christmas Songs.

10. "N.O.E.L." - Psychostick

Starting the list off with this Christmas-based parody of System of a Down's "BYOB," from one of my favorite bands. Funny, and very relatable as a longtime retail worker.

Today I found out about the existence of a post-apoc RPG called Summerland, and it sounds like it has a really interesting premise (the linked TV Tropes page has a good summary of it if you're interested). I might have to pick this up.

Summerland (2009) - TV Tropes
Summerland is a 2009 tabletop role-playing game designed by Greg Saunders, centering on themes of isolation and alienation. In a time not too distant from our own, a strange cataclysm occurred, called...

Thinking of doing something this Christmas season that I did back on my old Twitter account, listing one of my favorite Christmas songs/day. If I do, I'll probably reduce the number to 10 (it was my 25 favorite the first time around, and I was kind of grasping at straws to fill up the list).

Almost done reading the Pendragon GM Handbook. I really like how the Bestiary describes the mythical creatures *as the people in the 6th century saw and thought about them* - it's a fascinating glimpse into the mindsets of that era.

Overall, I had a good time at U-Con this year. My new Star Trek Adventures scenario got a good response from the players, and I enjoyed the Mothership system when I played my first game of it.

Good Day 2 of U-Con 2025! My Star Trek players had a great time, and my first game of Starfinder Society 2nd Edition went well.

Had an okay first day of U-Con 2025. My Star Trek game went well - the players seemed to like it - but the Pathfinder Society scenario I played in was just so badly designed.

Finished Frieren Season 1. I HIGHLY recommend it - it's a fairly low-key series for the most part, it tugs at the heartstrings in all the right ways, and it has some very important messages about life and the limited time we all have that I think everyone can appreciate.

I've got my badge info printed out, my business card wallet refilled, and my Star Trek Adventures scenario binder assembled. I'm officially ready for U-Con 2025!

I love the RPG philosophy behind this shirt's quote.

Did another bit of U-Con prep today - got my flu shot.

U-Con is fast approaching. I'm looking forward to seeing how this new Star Trek scenario of mine plays.

"Know this first: your anxiety is a liar."

Just my own modification of a quote I saw in a Dark Heresy book that I felt like sharing.

Finished the Dragonbane Bestiary today. Loved the presentation:

-An in-universe entry from a character, describing the monster
-Stat block
-A random encounter idea
-A hook for a scenario that incorporates the monster in some way

It really fired up my imagination, got me thinking of story ideas.

I'm 11 episodes into "Frieren" and it has to be one of the best D&D-style pieces of fantasy media I've ever seen. I love how the series constantly touches on elves' long lives, how a human lifetime is almost nothing to them - it makes for a main character with some interesting perspectives.

Saw a post on Reddit today talking about how the poster's Vampire: the Masquerade games turn into "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" with vampires, and now I REALLY want to play in that chronicle.

Cancelled my U-Con Power Rangers RPG event. It didn't sell any tickets, at least until I sent the takedown request (the message from U-Con said a couple tickets were refunded even though it had sold zero when I checked just before). Going to run another session of "The Pathos of Things" instead.

Spooky Season is about the only time of the year I miss having cable TV as opposed to streaming platforms. It was fun just bouncing around channels and seeing what horror movies were on. Whether they were good, so bad they're good, or just plain awful, it was usually a fun way to kill time.

Does anybody else remember "Housing Complex C" on Adult Swim? That was a cool show - as soon as I saw the Elder Sign in the promo, I was sold. I hope someone makes a spiritual sequel to that series in the future (preferably with a few more episodes to allow the mystery to unfold at a better pace).

Just finished Rick and Morty Season 8.

I've always said that while individual episodes of Rick and Morty vary in quality, when the show's good, it's REALLY good. The Season 8 finale was REALLY good! Very interesting sci-fi concepts, lots of emotional punch, and humor that didn't feel out of place.

As a gamemaster and a writer, it's a nice ego boost to see a waiting list for tickets to your convention event form. Makes you feel wanted, like you're in demand.

I'm halfway through Rick and Morty Season 8, and I can't remember the last time I've laughed so hard so many times at this show. Feels like a welcome return to form.

U-Con tickets went on sale for everyone today. My Star Trek game ("The Pathos of Things") is sold out, but so far not a single ticket has been sold for my other game ("Power Rangers Unworthy: Blackout"). Hopefully I'll get some sign-ups for the latter soon.

I have been really, REALLY hankering to run a post-apoc RPG for a couple months (either The Lost Citadel, Arora: Age of Desolation, or Unhallowed Metropolis). Unfortunately, it's been tough finding interested players in my area.
