Once upon a time newspaper publishers were wealthy enough to withstand legal potshots from the public. Now that they're hanging by threads and the super-wealthy can squash them like bugs, their more precarious position makes them more likely to prioritize self-preservation over truth.

He seems to think that’s what he needs to say for his constituents or maybe even to seem high-minded, but the line about no one being above the law is incredibly naive at this moment in time.

It FEELS like there will be less overall waiting if you make the first bus instead of the second or third, but the reality is that you’ll just start waiting sooner at baggage claim or your next gate. For tight connections though, the need to be on the first bus makes people feral.

who, to my mind, are cloud app entrepreneurs. Maybe there are some finer points about the gestalt of the making of the app + turning it into a business and all that entails, but ‘cloud app entrepreneur’ better fits the case in my mind. Whence this nomenclature?

I love Claris Works! I was a Claris sales engineer back in the early 90s and one of my duties was to be able to put Claris Works through its paces at trade shows.
