What a beautiful display Nigella having a chilled Christmas Eve this year aa I’m not doing the dinner. I did however make my mums stuffing, it’s nearly 32 years since I lost her but have made it every Christmas since she passed.

I remember buying the tape & listening to it in my car. I had to stop & listen to Driving the Last Spike for the first time then rewind it & listen to it again. My favourite track on the album & one of my favourite Genesis tracks #Genesis

Tenuous family history link, my 4x great grandad David Wright was a gardener at Roe Head, Mirfield (now Hollybank school) where for a time the three Brontë sisters were educated.

I have my grandads autograph book which included this little gem from 1913! It was also his war diary with details of when he joined “the colours” on 14 March 1917 aged 18. He was gassed in Bethuen, France 23 May 1918, luckily he survived or I wouldn’t be writing this!

My 7 x great grandmother Mary Wright gave birth to John who was born in 1758. She was base begotten so I’m unable to find any information further back. I’ve managed to establish 16 generations on other branches as my family have not wandered further than #Halifax & #Mirfield
