“The survey shows we have a huge problem. Women are owed much better than this,” says EIGE Director, Carlien Scheele.
"We want women and girls to feel safe at home, at work, out with friends or taking the bus across town.

Over 100,000 women were interviewed.

The EU gender-based violence survey was carried out jointly by Eurostat, FRA, and EIGE—the three organisations which are responsible respectively for official statistics, human rights, and gender equality within the EU.
A third of women in the EU have experienced violence at home, at work or in public, finds the @eu-eurostat.extwitter.link eurostat.extwitter.link / @eurightsagency.bsky.social / EIGE EU gender-based violence survey.

The results in today's release of the EU gender-based violence survey are shocking.
1 in 3 women suffer gender-based violence
1 in 3 are sexually harassed at work (even higher for young women)
Too much violence goes unreported

Hey America - what is the mood where you are about the coronation of King Charles here in the uK tomorrow?

Is there much interest? Boredom? Or a revival of tea party sentiment?

Or would you rather see a picture of my dog?
