Farage wouldn’t quite rule out having said any of the shocking words attributed to him half a century ago, conceding he was merely guilty of “banter in a playground” but said he has “never directly racially abused anybody.”
His inquisitor was firm in picking him up on that “directly” caveat.

Glasman is so confused. I was off away from home - age 19, back in 1970. Not to uni but to work at ICI, 200 miles away. That was not abnormal. Many others left at that age. But 2 years later I switched and did go to uni, after evening classes. A career managing paint sales for ICI did not appeal.

Hollinrake, Tory chair since July, posted a picture of a badge awarded to the first 100,000 members of Hitler's party in 1933. His post sparked fury in Reform circles but was in response to a post by Farage stating "coming soon", along with a gold Reform badge logo.
