In 1598, Frances Trigge donated the princely sum of £100 to St Wulfram’s Church in Grantham. On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to explore the astonishing Frances Trigge Chained Library, the oldest public library in England. It’s well worth a visit. #LincsConnect #History

St Wulfram’s Church in Grantham is the proud owner of this medieval font c1496 covered by a fancy cover made in 1899 by Sir Walter Tapper. Inside you can see Edward the Confessor, St Hugh of Lincoln & St Wulfram. #LincsConnect #FontsOnFriday

St Mary the Virgin Church in Bottesford contains many amazing monuments, including this fascinating heart stone: “Here lies the heart of Lord Robert de Roos whose body is buried at Kirkham, died on 13 June 1285. Isabella Lady de Roos, wife of said Robert de Roos, lies near Stamford & died 1301.”

The fancy font inside St Botolph’s Church in Boston, aka The Stump. Designed as a Calendar Church, there are 365 steps climbing the tower, 52 windows, & 7 doors.
