2/4 The tail is sensitive, containing many nerve endings, blood vessels and vertebrae.
Shockingly, routine docking has been banned in the UK for almost twenty years, yet more than 70% of pigs farmed here, and perhaps as many as 85%, are mutilated in this way. It's a scandal.

This is my first post on Bluesky, and it’s an important one. I took this photo of a caged and terrified sow for Animal Justice Project, during an investigation into UK factory farms. She is imprisoned and psychologically tortured here simply because we don’t think enough about our food choices.
