I regret every book I let go.

I’m horrified by that. Missing, incomplete, or overloaded data fields already make historical data difficult to deal with. And if you don’t catch those, then the AI will make its own decisions, and then that bad data becomes part of its training and good luck cleaning that up.

Like with generative art - it might look okay at first, but as soon as you look into the details, everything falls apart.

The biggest problem I have noticed is recency bias - the most important data is the newest data, and the AI will disproportionately weight that compared to older data. It really wants you to know about the thing it just learned. Woe to the PM who uses this to make big strategic decisions. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Over time this small errors will add up, and be exacerbated by other users trying to fix the data. Remember - AI does not know what’s real, it can only measure consensus. And if enough people think something is correct, so will AI.

We’re all rushing to put the time bomb in everything.

The problem is that AI does some things very well. If you ask it for a summary of a given dataset, it will produce a great outline.
But it’s only as good as the original data, and anything that’s ambiguous or lacking context can cause hallucinations that start small.
