Kyrgyzstan landscapes are a seemingly infinite series of valleys heading up to impassable peaks.
These valleys are home to herds of horses and cattle, yurts and wildlife.

Alakul (lake) in Kyrgyzstan. This was the halfway point in a grueling 3-day hike. Worth every second, not just for this view, but the whole way.
At the far end, the higher Tien Shan peaks reminding us that, in Asia, 4000m is "low altitude".

Earlier this summer I visited Kyrgyzstan for 9 days of hiking. Here at the Alamudun valley, an easy hike with very rewarding views- mostly unknown to western tourists, but in my opinion better than Ala Archa.
