Hmm unsure how the adaptations end, but I have a very strong theory as to why the book's conclusion goes down the way it does. Hint: people are so ready to think the worst of Christie... but she does it with mirrors!

Both are excellent but Sleeping Murder has such a fabulous, unique hook. TDIWM feels to me like the quintessential Miss Marple story - surely a big influence on adaptations and the 2022 new stories. Go ahead and devour em both cos like I say the reread is often as good or even better!

I didn't remember much about TDIWM until I reread but almost everything I discovered I enjoyed!

Funnily enough I also reread Ackroyd recently, having felt it was overhyped before, and found it quite thrilling and inventive despite knowing the ending
