*Fat thumbs* - buttons and icons need to be large enough to be tapped on, the active area should not be less than 36px by 36px. Especially for devices that are used by older adults with limited mobility, larger active areas to tap on will make it easier for them to interact with the interface.

*Larger text* - your smallest text on the page needs to be larger; generally they should not be smaller than 14 pts (16 pts is the most comfortable to read, imho.) Think about all types of users using your website or app.

Common mistakes I see are people over designing interfaces with too many actions that confuse the user.

*Simplify visual noise* - “over-designed” pages/screens/sections can be hard to understand and use. If your user interface is hard to understand or confusing to use (coughs in fb messenger) your users will get frustrated and not use it, which is NOT what we want.

*Clear color contrast* - this helps the visually impaired view and/or interact with your content more easily, in many different scenarios, one specific thing to note is text over images or graphics, that makes it hard to read. Add a background or and outline to increase legibility.

Nothing embarrassing about pouring your heart into creating amazing content! :) I'm starting to think about periodically exporting all my content on platforms I engage in, so I don't feel too bad if my account is deleted, or hacked, etc.

Can you not export your content? I think it's actually so important to export content on social sites that we spend a time creating content for since you don't own that space technically.
