This 2024 painting is an allegory of hope and resistance against racism. It's the living room that I grew up in in Queens, with the cats that lived there with me. I am mixed race, like the #cats you see. I wish to be bathed in light and be ok.

I had a dream where I was back in the Queens apartment that I grew up in. In the kitchen, there were dirty pots and broken eggs. It seemed like the dream had a lot of meaning so I painted it.
