"So... <long pause> ... do you make a living at that?"

"Well, not in fiat currency, of course."

long silence...

Both should be finished. Nuzzi corrupted journalism. Lizza commodified that corruption and let it continue for profit. She's a disgrace. He's an accomplice. (fin)

Nuzzi's sin is cardinal. She allegedly burned sources, colluded with a subject and betrayed confidences. Lizza's sin: He knew a journalist was committing these sins and sat on it because it benefited him to wait.

He timed this to destroy her book and maximize his platform. Not when the PUBLIC needed to know. Not when it could have mattered. When it would drive the most clicks to his newsletter.

Nuzzi corrupted herself. Lizza watched the corruption happen, documented it, and decided his Substack subscriptions were more important than the integrity of political journalism
November 27, 2025 at 4:18 AM
He had a moral and professional obligation to expose this immediately. Instead, he sat on it like it was a dollops of gossip item he was saving for sweeps week.
November 27, 2025 at 4:18 AM
Every piece Nuzzi published after Lizza knew was journalism fraud. And he LET IT HAPPEN. Why? Because he was planning his big Substack reveal? He valued his newsletter drama over stopping an active corruption of the press.
November 27, 2025 at 4:18 AM
Perhaps he's got a book to promote. Or he's just driving subs. I don't know. And yes, journalism needs a business model to survive. But holding back information that a prominent journalist was actively working to elect a candidate? That's not a business plan. That's complicity.
November 27, 2025 at 4:18 AM
But here's what makes Lizza WORSE: He knew. He KNEW. And he did nothing to stop it. He let her maintain her authority and platform while knowing she was corrupted.
November 27, 2025 at 4:18 AM
(And I don't even want to get into what she's done to the image of female reporters, who have had to battle the idea that they sleep with sources. The ones I've known have been tremendous, tenacious reporters who have been truly unfairly maligned by all this. They deserve better.)
November 27, 2025 at 4:18 AM
That's not a mistake. That's not getting too close to a source. That's premeditated betrayal of everything journalism is supposed to be. She burned down the credibility of every political reporter in America for her own purposes.
November 27, 2025 at 4:18 AM
Let's be clear about Nuzzi first: If Lizza's allegations are true, she didn't just cross a line, she engaged in sustained, deliberate corruption. She weaponized her access and platform to influence an election while posing as an objective reporter.

(J/k. No one’s going to leave. Billionaires don’t live in nyc because of the low tax rate. They live there because it’s the greatest city in the world. And if they leave, good riddance. You couldn’t cut it anyway.) l
