To say no one would complain about changes to capital gains etc is not realistic, & I’d argue that enough disengaged walk into polling booths & vote on the messaging that is feed them that a well crafted narrative about risk & trust. The obvious is Shorten but it also sank Gillard’s support

My two sons first election and one of the things we said to them was be grateful for our system and the AEC, the US is what you get when people can’t be bothered to show up

They learnt the lesson of Shorten in 2019 and before, why be bold if the voting population won’t come with you
