President Trump knows he's doing poorly on the economy and he's planning on refocusing on it heading into the new year, a person familiar says. He'll roll out new economic policies focusing on costs and is confident the economy will be better next year.

Enough gaslighting. Enough of covering for the ACA failures.

1. Obamacare passed without a single Republican vote. 60 senators in the Democratic caucus invoked cloture on what would be the final bill. They did not bow to any Republican demands. Some "moderate" Dems did have input.

We could compromise with Democrats and extend ACA credits for a couple of years in exchange for closing this loophole. It’s a huge, costly loophole.

#1 It's not tariffs or immigration enforcement that's hurting Republicans.

#2 More free markets and free minds rhetoric and policy are not going to help them win these elections.
I don't want the GOP to fully pander to the free stuff crowd either, since they'd just be replicating the Democratic strategy, and Dems will always do it better.
If you think the GOP is "supposed to be" the party of "free minds and free markets" in the Ben Shapiro mold, you're asking to be the permanent minority party.

Republicans are going to lose the elections in VA, not because of tariffs or immigration enforcement or whatever infighting there is, but because Republicans won't pander to the free stuff crowd, whether it's with lifetime government jobs or budget-busting ACA subsidies or more SNAP and Medicaid.

If GOP primary voters made Adam Putman the nominee in 2018, he would've won Florida by 30 points and merged it with Cuba and Puerto Rico, and then won the new state by 50 points. He would've then annexed Canada and won that new state by 90 points.

Newsom will be such a force in 2028 that he will FORCE Puerto Rico to become a state by virtue of his election.

How could you continue to be a Democrat after seeing what's happened with the ACA Marketplaces?

There is no intellectual excuse for the ACA Marketplaces leading to $40,000 annual premiums for older Americans, which should make someone think that Democrats build stable, durable social safety nets.

So 200 million adults are each paying $25,000, on average, into this system or about $27,500 this year.

$30,000 next year, probably.

Some combination of your taxes plus your premiums and out-of-pocket expenses is going to pump $30,000 into this system next year, whether you like it or not.
Total healthcare spending was $4.9 trillion in 2023.

$14.570 per persona

$20,000 per adulto. (Multiply all these numbers by 1.1 and you'll get an estimate for this year, 2025). And 50 million adults are on Medicaid. They pay very little into this system.
