We were hoping that the storm would deliver something from the west. And it did. Swainson’sThrush Foula today. Very difficult to get close too, hence the most record or record shots. #RareBirdsUk

Don’t know about carry on rules but this brand excellent. Very well made and most comfortable bag I’ve used

That’s a really striking picture. Lovely

This Golden Plover in the fog was a nice surprise this afternoon. Not been a classic year on the Walton patch (for me anyway) so you have to take your small wins when you can. #surreybirds

Hi. We go for car share. Flexible. Never had a problem with people paying their way….as all know that is part of the deal. Good luck with it as trips at the heart of a bird club

Had the day off work so had a few hours at the local reservoirs. Highlight was a Peregrine tucking into a Parakeet. Quiet otherwise. #surreybirds

I heard it was showy but wasn’t expecting it to be that showy! The Desert Wheatear at Beachy Head.

Our first week on Foula is the quietest ive had in 30 odd trips up in Shetland. Still this RB Fly may be a harbinger of things to come. In habitat and a bit closer.

A satisfying weekend at the local reservoirs. 2 Sandwich Tern over Island Barn on Friday and then a local Turnstone and Curlew. Haven’t had the later at the res for a couple of years now. #SurreyBirds

Yes please. Not quite sure how all this works yet

Think it’s working. Many thanks. Bluesky really might work. Just need enough birders to join. Perhaps some momentum now.

One more. Just testing to see if we can set up an #SurreyBirds feed.
