I used to think (20 years ago) that online learning would "be fine". Now I know better, thanks to your evidence and my own parental experience. Social in-person "workgroups" can be very powerful - just as in working life.

The gas solution won’t work. They plan it, but there’s no turbines left to buy until 2031. The manufacturers are not building additional capacity.
