Down in the desert this weekend for CVMA at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway. Wind picked up but it’s much warmer than Seattle. Also first time I’ve been here for CCW track direction.

I for one am surprised that the manchild that got upset his jet was being tracked also wants his intergovernmental activities not subject to FOIA and is asking folks to stop using Slack. Okay, not that surprised...

Somehow my morning is full of folks saying we had to install this administration as the previous one was ruining our economy. What’s the chance they know the USA has one of the lowest inflation rates globally? By all measures they’d done an outstanding economic job.

At this point, it's really just an IPO with extra steps and a less elastic market. These later series seem to be debt financing and opportunities for engineers to sell shares to institutional investors.
If you’re hiring your first five engineers and you tell them you’ll be still private and raising a Series J in twelve years, how many would walk out on the spot?
Data analytics startup Databricks closed its $10B Series J, announced in December 2024 and including investment from Meta, and raised $5.25B in debt (Paul Sawers/TechCrunch)

Outside of tech I also race motorcycles. This weekend was the WMRRA awards banquet and I did alright on the season. I only did half of the rounds and performed well enough in them to finish in 2nd and 3rd in my classes. Hoping to spend a season on the new platform (Aprilia, see how
