in Maya - Animbot helps alot for interaction between two rigs.
In blender - You will be going back and forth between making empties and using constraints and baking them - unless You have some scripts to automate that process.

if You're sculpting and You see planes folding You may have not enough subdivisions/topology to effectively sculpt on Your mesh, You need more high-resolution mesh to add details.
