Now the Toriyama point I completely get yeah

The game severely lacks ambition. Almost no new powerups, no new combat mechanics, optional upgrades are still 95% the same 3 things, the biomes are your standard ice, fire, grass etc. and the story is bland. It feels like Prime 3 but again, which while good, is shockingly safe for 15 years later

I have a theory that their goal with this game was to prove that they can still make a Metroid Prime game and that 5 is gonna go insane

While that is dumb, I also chose to never play music in the overworld. A desolate, silent desert fits Metroid way better
