Granted Trump is a stream of consciousness person, the left is slower in foreign policy thought and needs to reconsider its historical terms faster

That's actually an astute observation

I like his reporting within the NYT but think his blatant plays for audiences plainly irresponsible

I defend partisan journalists but it's as a fictional aggregate in practice as either in clout-chasing or partisanship they always go off the deep end

The point regarding "analogy freedom" is that even discussing, say, Islamist groups or covert military intervention plans, people just tend to only reach for analogies and things in a strangely limited vicinity

But you see a singular offensive plan, which is unlikely

#1 really was in response to a Hamas attack anyway, so that was a given

I need to study the whole of the late fracas with Hezbollah more (I was put off by the evil of the pager attack), but only "opportunism" is likely in common with #2 & #3
